This group is for the discussion of molecular evolution ranging from the [anthropoid apes, humans, and ancient DNA]. The focus of the group is on primary literature and sequences found on sequence databases. Also on topic is literature the pertains to human molecular evolution, such as archaeological sites, morphology of human remains (particularly since molecular information can now be derived from such remains), and regional or cultural forces acting on molecular evolution.
Posts are expected to contain scientific content or discussion of science with extensive reliance on material quoted from the primarily literature. Questions about references or papers relevent to molecular anthropology are welcome. Please refrain from discussing racially, ethnically or religiously motivated perceptions of human evolution.
