Bay Joemax,
I still remember you were the one who started the thread which forced
many of our subscribers to change to daily format (yes, including you
;)). The last week had been perhaps the busiest in the history of The
DILFED Forum.
The first thing that I would like to do right now is to dispell one of
the assumptions that you have raised:
> 2.) Filipinos need to talk amongst themselves ONLY without any
> interference from foreigners or form outside forces whatsoever
> that is in a language or lingua franca that is mostly only
> the Filipino people understand.
Your statement implies the following:
1. We need a common language so that we can speak among ourselves.
2. That common language must only be understood by Filipinos so that
we will not have interference from the outside.
Some time ago in DILA, there was a good discussion on the uselessness
of the first point. I can't find the actual message now, but others
might be able to.
(P.S. I'd like to continue this, but I really have to go now. Will
continue it two hours later :))
