In order for this list to be successful, we all need to be responsible and respectful of others by sending messages to the list that have:

- proper notice (messages sent the day before or of an event will not be approved)
- relevance to the majority of our members
- accurate information before submission
- an informative subject line to include date, location, etc
example of good subject line: 'save the date - Delaware Pride festival: Sat, 09/13/2008'
example of bad subject line: 'Delaware Pride'
- we ask that you refrain from sending similar messages within a month as they will lose their effectiveness.

This listserv is also a good venue for LGBTA owned/operated businesses to have a limited opportunity to sell themselves. In addition to following the above guidelines, LGBTA businesses should:

- mention in each and every message that the business is LGBTA owned /operated
- refrain from sending business-related messages to no more than every 4-6 weeks
