We are a group of parents and children 5-12 years old who meet one weekend a month for two hours in the DC area. We are all Buddhists of various persuasions and these gatherings the last 1 1/2 years have been focused on creating a loving and fun Buddhist community for our children.
We also penciled in some some plans for the first half of 2010. In January and February, we're going to join Debbie Norris, of The Mindfulness Center in Bethesda, who will help lead our gatherings (http://www.themindfulnesscenter.com/index.php). For March and April, we're planning to join the Vajrayogini Center near Dupont Circle, (http://www.meditation-dc.org/dharma-for-kids), and for May and June, we're planning on organizing our own outdoor activities such as mindful hikes in nature and mindful play on playgrounds :).
