DCMetroDads is a network of stay at home and primary care fathers living in the Washington DC Metro area. Our group encompasses the entire Greater Washington Metropolitan region consisting of DC, suburban Maryland and Virginia. We provide support to other stay at home fathers, fathers who are considering to stay at home and all primary care fathers. Our mission is to reduce the isolation of a stay at home father and to provide social as well as educational activities for our members. We meet for playgroups to allow the children to interact, as well as the dads to spend time together. We also have a monthly DADS ONLY Night Out, and an occasional luncheon for dads and kids. Our activities have included trips to local parks, the National Mall, the Capital Children's Museum, and the National Zoo. We also have formal playgroups that meet regularly throughout the area in member's homes. There are more playgroups getting started all the time. We also have a chapter system set up to better serve our members. We have chapters in Baltimore, Bowie/Annapolis, Howard and Montgomery counties in MD and NOVA Dads in Northern Virginia.
