This is for people who have adopted from The Critter Corral in Steger, Illinois, support the Critter Corral, or would like to know more about the Critter Corral. While others are welcome, be aware this group is oriented toward a specific group of cavy owners. We were founded in April, 1999 to find homeless and unwanted guinea pigs loving, permanent homes. To date we have taken in over 2400.
Our guinea pigs come from many places but about 95% come from shelters where they get turned in for a variety of reasons, the most popular being "Too much work" and "The kids won't take care of them anymore." All of our guinea pigs are vet checked and housed in our homes until we can find a suitable home for them. Working with a foster home program allows us to get to know the guinea pigs more personally making it easier to find that perfect home.
Pictured (or should I say pigtured) is all the walkers who showed up for Our Annual Popcorn Parade. This pigture has everyone from all the groups that were there. Remember this is done with The House Rabbit Society and The Greater Chicago Ferret Association. Money from the walk goes to help with our medical bills! A huge Thank You to everyone who came and especially Chris Vaughn who walked on behalf of all the foster guinea pigs past, present and future!!
