Description

Descendants from Craco, located in the province of Matera, Basilicata, Italy. This list is a community of descendants from Craco that wish to explore and nurture their heritage from Southern Italy. Many families are represented here: Avena, Camperlengo/Camberlengo, Rinaldi, Spero/Spera, Rubertone, Lorubbio, Lobasco, Lospinuso, Benedetto, Manghise, Marrese, Mormando, Mastronardi, Ferrante, Caricato, Colabella/Colabello, DeCesare, D'Elia, Di Santo, Santalucia, Tocci, Tuzi, Francavilla, Grossi, Grecia, Roccanova, Ragone, Sarubbi, Salomone and more.

Our first reunion was August 10-12, 2007 in Albany New York. The inaugural group trip to Craco June 14-21, 2008 was a resounding success. The second reunion saw more than 100 Crachesi in New York City August 15-17, 2008. Our third reunion took us to Brooklyn as we continued to follow in the foot steps of many of our Crachesi ancestors. This reunion coincided with the feast of San Vincenzo- Craco's patron saint.

This year, our fourth reunion was held in the Catskills at Villa Roma.
