Dear all,

It is the great year for reformed faith movement, especially in Asia. They are hunger to learn. We will not alone to held the CH-CI certificate program, Singapore and Malaya will be having this program starting next year. Praise the Lord! The CH-CI certificate program is six years old now.

Two more weeks, the other CH-CI certificate course will be held at CBCM. This is the first time that this certificate course is held at MD. Please encourage brothers and sisters to attend. Some people may think this course has been taken before or they already know the message so they don't need to join with us to study. Let us humble ourselves in front of our mighty God; He will renew our life each time in different ways.

Pride goes before destruction,  a haughty spirit before a fall. (Proverbs 16:18)

CBCM is invited Dr. Alex Luc to conduct an exegesis on Ezekiel
at Sept 18-20. He'll also give a training lecture to the Sunday School
teachers on basic knowledge to use Hebrew for interpretation of OT. The
detailed information is shown on the attached e-poster. This event is open
to brothers and sisters in all churches in great Washington DC area.

Dear All at CI-DC:
I recommend that everyone get a set of:
THE NEW TESTAMENT COMMENTARY
by William Hendriksen/Simon Kistemaker.
Dr. Kistemaker completed this set of
commentary after the death of Dr. Hendriksen.
This set is Reformed, VERY clear and
easy to read, and goes out of the way
to provide outlines, summaries and application
points. The authors "hide" the technical
details in the back of each section, so
the main body reads smoothly.
It is almost ready for use as sermon/Bible
study material!
Don't let the thickness of the volumes scare
you. It is highly, highly readable. I profit
a lot from it.
The other resource I would like to recommend
is:
ADULT BIBLICAL EDUCATION SERIES,
a series of 20+ paperback Adult Sunday
School textbooks written by Dr. Jack Scott
for the PCA.
You can go to: www.pcanet.neg, click
Christian Education / PCA bookstore,
and make a purchase. It is about $125 plus
postage (comes out to a little under $140).
These are also CLEARLY written, any layperson
can understand, and the books cover Genesis
to Revelation!
Of course it is always great to get a set of
Calvin's Commentaries, which is selling today
for $119 at www.christianbook.com. However
consider buying the John Calvin CD-Rom when
it is available (in the recent past,for under $20).
This CD-Rom includes ALL of Calvin's commentaries
plus the INSTITUTES, his sermons, articles, etc.
etc. Also: Augustine's writings in 6 volumes.

The June 19-21 CI Class is only 3 days away!  This is a friendly reminder that the 1st session of the class will be held on Friday (6/19) @ 7:00PM. If you have not registered yet, it's not too late to register!  Consider some comments from God's faithful servants of the past and present on the Book of Romans -
 
Luther - This Epistle is the chief book of the NT, the purest gospel. It deserves not only to be known word for word by every Christian, but to be the subject of his meditation day by day, the daily bread of his soul....

Praise the Lord!  The lord has given China Horizon the new
invitations/opportunities to "step up" our presence in Asia. Rev. Samuel Ling is
fine but busy and he is very enjoying this ministry trip. He is teaching at
Tokyo now. His next stop will be Taipei then he is back to LA on 06/11. Your
continue prayer and support are very important, thanks.

Due to eager need on teaching ministry in Asia, Rev. Ling will not available at
our area in the coming December. The course "Christ in the Old Testament" which
is planned to hold at CBCM in coming December will be postponed. We will move
this course to first quarter of 2010 if Lord opens the door and his people
respond. Sorry for that change and we appreciate your understanding and
supporting.

The following courses which are scheduled in June and July will not affect.
Please don't miss these opportunities for studies and register early, thanks.

Theseare the latest research findings by the
respected Barna Research Group of Ventura, California.
I have begun subscribing to their free service.
I encourage you to read the latest book from them,
unCHRISTIAN.
It summarizes what 16-29-year old Christians and non-Christians
in the US think about Christianity.
In a nutshell, Christianity is very un-Christian, in the eyes of those
who don't go to church. And many 16-to-29 year olds IN the church
tend to agree.

pot, as the (theological/anti-theological) temperature is gradually turned up?

This seminary will be opened to public and welcome brothers and sisters from other local churches to attend. This seminar is Free (we will not charge seminar & course material fee from them). Child care (4-12) and free meal (lunch & dinner on Saturday) will be provided by our church. For preparing the seminar handout and arranging meal order, all attendees need to register before the meeting. The format of the seminar will be similar with CI course.                6071 Leesburg Pike, Falls Church, VA 22041.
              (Between 7-Corners & Bailey's Cross Rd. - Rt. 7)

   Lecturer: Dr. Rev. Tai-Ying Lee

Please encourage your church members to attend this meeting.  We also welcome them to invite their friends to join. We would like to have as many as brothers/sisters being blessed through this teaching.

This seminary will be opened to public and welcome brothers and sisters from other local churches to attend. This seminar is Free (we will not charge seminar & course material fee from them). Child care (4-12) and free meal (lunch & dinner on Saturday) will be provided by our church. For preparing the seminar handout and arranging meal order, all attendees need to register before the meeting. The registration fee is $10 for each person.  It is our desire that brothers and sisters of your church would take advantage of this unique opportunity.

The format of the seminar will be similar with CI course. The seminar will be divided into 10 sessions/hours, 7:45pm to 10:00PM on Friday (03/20) and 9:00am to 8:15pm on Saturday (03/21).  If someone's time schedule is not allowed him/her to attend the whole seminar, we are also welcome him/her to attend some sessions.
 
It is not easy to invite the good speaker / lecturer with the solid program to equip brothers and sisters in the church. Praise the Lord for this equipping opportunity!

Tracy Downs will attend the Seminar, but I can't attend as I had originally intended, I must work on Saturday. I saw the e-mail from sister Ping who wished desperately to attend and your response seemed to be that there is no longer any seating capacity. However, since I won't be attending perhaps you can give sister Ping my seat.
