Welcome! The CosmeticLab is a virtual place where you can discuss and ask questions about the art, science and technology of formulating cosmetics and toiletries.

You can come to the CosmeticLab to learn about and discuss the state, federal and international regulatory environment that helps to define the development, marketing and sales of cosmetics and toiletries.

The CosmeticLab is a place to exchange ideas, concepts, formulas and recipes. It is a place to discuss and learn about raw materials, old and new.

Above all, we hope that the CosmeticLab will become a place where you will feel comfortable, a place to learn and grow as individuals and place where you share with others on this list.

Vendors are welcome to the CosmeticLab, but vendors will not permitted to place formal advertisements for their raw materials or products. However, vendors can and should respond to questions about raw materials and bases they sell.

The CosmeticLab is not a place to buy, sell, trade or exchange raw materials. Nor is the CosmeticLab a place to solicit list members to form buying groups.

If a CosmeticLab list member should ask where they can purchase ingredients, such as, Emulsifying Wax NF, Stearic Acid, Isopropyl Myristate or Sodium Hydroxymethylglycinate, we would expect and encourage the vendors of these ingredients to reply. Of course, non-vendors can also respond to these questions as well.

On the same token, if a member of the CosmeticLab has a question about the use of any raw material or vendors, any list members should feel free to reply.

The CosmeticLab will not be a static entity. We expect that it will be dynamic and it will change and evolve.

The CosmeticLab is not a place to discuss politics and religious beliefs.
