ONGOING TRAINING

"An excellent wife, who can find? For her worth is far above

Your husband's law enforcement training didn't end with academy
graduation. It had only just begun... He probably had a Field
Training Officer who worked with him during his first weeks as an
officer. Even now, he continues to qualify with his weapons, sharpen
his policing skills, and update his knowledge of weapons, tactics,
and new laws. He may even train for new positions or special
assignments throughout his career.

Don't you wish that marriage came with such indepth training?!
Imagine having a "Field Training Officer" in the beginning of your
married life to guide you whenever you hit a bump in the road! Think
about how beneficial it would be if couples had continual training to
understand their mates and to learn how to deal effectively with
challenges!

You CAN continue to train and update your skills as a Christian wife!
Seek out books by trusted authors. Start a wives' Bible Study to
study, encourage and pray for one another's marriages. Seek advice
from Christian counselors or pastors or wise married women when you
need guidance. Pray everyday for your husband and ask God how to
bless him.

If your husband is one to participate, attend a marriage enrichment
seminar together. Work together to plan husband/wife "dates" and weekends away
once in awhile to focus on the two of you!

Saying, "I do" doesn't make one a good marriage partner any more than
simply putting on a uniform and badge makes a person a good cop.
Ongoing practice/training is necessary for growth in ANYthing in
which you wish to succeed!

PRAYER: Father, guide these couples in their pursuit of a good,
longlasting, and happy marriage! Bless their efforts to improve
themselves and their marriages! Help them to understand each other
and to deal with issues effectively. In Jesus' name, amen.
