DON'T FLIRT WITH DANGER!
Today we are going to touch on a very dangerous threat to your
marriage... OTHER MEN! Ok, so that's a no-brainer! Or is it...?
How often do you find yourself alone or lonely? A cop's wife can be
on her own much of the time because of her husband's long and unusual
hours. We all know that there can be times when a cop is less than
sensitive in dealing with the people he loves because of his "control
the incident" training.
It can be very tempting when another man pays attention to you! Maybe
he's just flirting. Maybe he wants to be your friend. It's not as
harmless as some think! When you start hanging out with or confiding
in a male friend, Satan will begin to put devisive thoughts into your
head like, "That man is so much more sensitive than MY husband."
Or, "That man understands me so much more!"
Pretty soon, Satan will begin to rehearse all the negative things
about your husband and all the positive attributes of the
male "friend". You don't plan to go out and have an affair, but when
you gradually turn your trust and companionship over to a
male "friend" rather than your husband, it's only a matter of time
before it goes farther. In a weak moment, when your husband really
upsets you, you can fall into adultery.
Regardless of how far it does or doesn't go, a close friendship with
another man breeds distrust in your marital relationship and opens
the door to opportunity for you! Your husband shouldn't have any
competition for your affections! If you need companionship during the
lonely times, seek out women of God! Don't flirt with danger!
PRAYER: Father, I ask that you would provide good, close, Godly
female friendships for each of these ladies! If they have close male
friends, help them to back away from those and to focus their
affections on their husband! In Jesus' name, amen.
