SKILLS TO OVERCOME PROBLEMS IN MARRIAGE
Part 2... "Guard Your Tongue"

Because law enforcement careers can be hard on a marriage, we are
discussing the various skills you can employ to overcome problems in
your marriage. Today we will be focussing on one of your smallest
body parts... your tongue!

It's amazing how something so small and hidden can cause such
destruction if not restrained!! Your tongue literally has the power
to bring life or death to your marriage... and you make that choice
each time you speak to your spouse!

Think about the times that words have encouraged you or hurt you...
Your words to your husband have the same power! He may be a big
strong cop, but words affect him nonetheless! Especially the words
coming from his wife's mouth!

Before you speak, think about whether the words you are about to
speak will bring peace, resolution, and encouragement... or will they
have the effect of a bullet, tearing him apart? Remember... you don't
have to SAY everything that you are thinking!! Sometimes you need to
sit on your words until you can process them in a better manner!

Guard your tongue... Make sure that you speak words of life when you
are speaking to that special man that God has given you!

PRAYER: Father, I pray that the words of these women's mouths would
be pleasing to you, and would be an encouragement to their husbands!
Alert them whenever they are about to speak words of death, and help
them to speak words of life instead! In Jesus' name, amen.
