SPECIAL REQUEST: Please sign the National Law Enforcement Officers
Memorial Fund petition to remove the video game "25 to Life" from
United States store shelves. The game has an option that allows the
player to kill cops. NLEOMF hopes to collect 17,500 signatures, which
represents the approximate number of names inscribed on the walls of
the National Law Enforcement Officers Memorial.

A MARRIAGE RESOLUTION... Part 2

"Do nothing from selfishness or empty conceit, but with humility of
mind let each of you regard one another as more important than
himself; do not merely look out for your own personal interests, but
also for the interests of others."
Philippians 2:3,4 (NAS)

On our last visit, I asked you ladies to send me your New
Year's "marriage resolutions" to share with the group. Thanks to
those who responded! Your ideas are inspiring! If you have not yet
decided on something that you would like to work on in your marriage
this year, consider some of these ideas!

***Speak more uplifting things to your husband. Instead of being
critical, pray when you feel a critical moment coming on. For
example, if your husband is not good at home repairs....but he
tries... focus on his efforts and encourage him when he does try
instead of being so quick to say, "OH NO...NOT AGAIN!"

***Set aside at least one meal per week (or one entire day) to fast
and pray for your husband.

***For improved communication, connect with your husband via cell
phone on his drive home from work. This can be helpful if you work
opposite hours and don't get to see each other when he comes home.

***Plan at least one date night a month..... either find a babysitter
or swap child care with someone for the dates.

***Talk on the phone with your husband during his lunch time or break
to 'stay in touch' during the day.

***Every once in awhile, tuck a little love note in his lunch or
squad bag.

***Plan an occasional 'surprise love-making' session for your
husband, complete with candles.

***Learn as much as you can about one of his favorite hobbies and
enjoy it with him.

***Purpose to find at least one thing to praise him for everyday.

***Let him know how proud you are of him as a cop... frequently. He
needs to hear it.

***Attend a Bible study group together and discuss it at home together
afterwards. Or plan to discuss the Sunday sermon each week and how it relates to
you.

WAY TO GO, LADIES!
