A MARRIAGE RESOLUTION

"Do nothing from selfishness or empty conceit, but with humility of
mind let each of you regard one another as more important than
himself; do not merely look out for your own personal interests, but
also for the interests of others."
Philippians 2:3,4 (NAS)

Happy New Year, ladies!!

As you stand at the beginning of this new year, I want you to take
inventory of your marriage... Where does it need to improve? In light
of your officer's work schedule, what would facilitate more couple
time? Are you as close as you would like to be? Are you growing
together spiritually? Are you working to meet each other's needs? Are
there areas of unforgiveness? How is your life in the bedroom?

After praying and seeking God, decide upon ONE thing that you can
work on (either yourself or as a couple) that will improve your
marriage relationship over the course of this year. Make it realistic
and create small steps to reach your goal!

Perhaps the two of you will decide to set aside one or two date times
per month. Maybe you will take 15 minutes everyday to 'reconnect' and
talk about your day. If he likes to be pampered, you might decide to
pamper him with breakfast in bed once in awhile. You might join a
couple's group at church. Perhaps you will decide you need to purpose
to praise him on a more regular basis, in particular in the area of
his job. You might arrange your schedule to pray for him 1/2 hour
everyday. Or you might try to increase your frequency of love-making.

Whatever it is, tailor it to the needs of YOUR marriage! Then, those
of you who are comfortable sharing, I would like you to send me
your "marriage resolution" to share with the group! NO NAMES will be
attached. Just the ideas. I'll send them out in the next mailing so
that we can all have ideas to use in the area of nuturing our
relationships!

PRAYER: Father, speak to each of these wives' hearts and show them
what they can do to facilitate the growth of their marriage
relationship. Soften their husbands' hearts to them and bless these
couples! In Jesus' name, amen.
