SISTER TO SISTER

"And so, as those who have been chosen of God, holy and beloved, put
on a heart of compassion..." Colossians 3:12a (NAS)

As law enforcement wives, you share a special bond. There are things
unique to your role of "cop's wife" that others who aren't married to
the badge may not understand.

Not every wife in the world sends her husband off to work with a gun
holstered on his hip and a bulletproof vest strapped to his chest!
Your husband's experiences on the job bring an element to the
marriage that is far from the norm!

As a Christian wife, you have the spirit of God inside of you to
provide wisdom, guidance and peace in dealing with your marriage and
family. As you walk the path of police wife, God wants you to also
help other police wives on their journey! Think about ways in which
you could minister to other law enforcement wives. In ministering to
them, you will also find support for yourself!

Consider initiating a monthly police wives' Bible study. It could be
online or in your home. You could also have a prayer group that meets
to pray for and support one another. Some people have even started
online e-mail groups for Christian police wives.

If starting a Bible study or prayer group is not an option, make
yourself available to other wives from your husband's department when
you know there is a need. Offer to pray with them, cook a meal, take
care of kids, or help out in an area of need. Your service to them
will show them the love of Christ!

You have a special sisterhood with other cops' wives! Be there to
serve and support one another!

PRAYER: Father, I ask that you would bind my sisters' hearts
together! Help them to be there to love, support, and serve one
another. Open their eyes to the needs of other police wives so that
they can meet those needs! In Jesus' name, amen.
