DELIGHTFUL TASKS!
"She [an excellent wife] looks for wool and flax, and works with her
hands in delight."
Proverbs 31:13 (NAS)
Do you ever feel like your daily tasks are just a horrible chore? Do
you find yourself grumbling about all the cooking, cleaning, errands,
kids, a job outside the home, to name a few things?? As a law
enforcement wife, you may struggle even more because of the long
hours your husband works and having to do so many things on your own!
Over time, it's easy to lose site of the blessing in your tasks!
Let's look at how the Word says you should approach your duties.
Proverbs 31 says that an excellent wife works with her hands in
DELIGHT. Delight means having great pleasure or joyful satisfaction.
Can you honestly say that you DELIGHT in your daily tasks??
If not, take a look at your reasons for frustration. Do you
overcommit your time? Have you let your time with God slide out of
your life? Do your priorities need rearranging? Does your attitude
just need an adjustment? As God reveals the changes needed, make them!
Your hubby and children are THE most important things that God has
given to you. Purpose to approach your daily tasks as a means of
blessing your family! When you are BLESSING them, you can take
pleasure in what you are doing!
PRAYER: Father, help us all to find PLEASURE in blessing our
families! Remind us of the blessing they are to us, and help us to
adjust our attitudes when we get out of sorts! In Jesus' name, amen.
