MARRIAGE KILLERS -- part 3

"Let marriage be held in honor among all..."
Hebrews 13:4a (NAS)

You've all heard the sentiment, "It's the quality of time together
that counts, not the quantity." I beg to differ!

I've seen numerous marriages suffer due to lack of time together.
Yes, quality is important. But if you and your spouse have very
LITTLE of that quality time over an extended period of time, you will
inevitably become disconnected in your marriage.

In the law enforcement profession, shift work, overtime, and off-duty
work are the norm. Couples have to work very hard at MAKING time for
one another. It makes no sense to succeed in a profession, only to
lose your marriage.

There may be seasons during which you will have less time with one
another, but those seasons should not be allowed to be permanent or
long-lasting. Relationships need time together to survive and thrive.

I encourage every married couple to put the marriage first and work
hard to schedule "couple time" for the two of you every week. And
make sure that you talk everyday. Stay connected!

PRAYER: Father, I pray for these women's marriages and ask that you
would bind them together with their husbands! Renew their passion for
one another! Intervene in the circumstances in their lives so that
they are able to make time together a top priority! Bless their
marriages! In Jesus' name, amen.

PLEASE FORWARD these devotionals to other police wives so that they
will be blessed by them! They may subscribe to this free service by
