Well it can vary a bit. Every token is struck from an obverse and reverse die, but the edges can be a bit different, there can be 0, 1, 2, or 3 edge dies....

No I would say from his description it IS a replica Conder token. The two pence replicas are dated 1787 not 1790 and they match the regular issue two pence....
