This group is a general discussion of hardware and software that allows you to connect your Amateur Radio(s), Communications Receiver(s), or Police Scanner(s), such as Uniden TrunkTrackers, Radio Shack Pro 205x, Icom, etc. to your computer via the audio, video, serial, parallel, USB or Firewire ports.

In particular, our focus is on 3 specific areas:

Remote Control includes software which allows you to control the functions and get enhanced status data of your receiver or transceiver from your PC or PDA.

Audio Enhancement software allows you to create filters to improve the intelligibility and sound quality of received signals. Volume Control includes software which can set the sound level based on the current frequency or talkgroup. Recording software allows the user to save audio into a WAV, MP3, Windows Media, or RealPlayer format.

Decoding & Encoding of Speciality Communications Modes allows the user to access Packet, AMTOR, RTTY, ACARS, CW, etc. in receive or transceive modes.
