Come and discuss the writings of Professor J.R.R. Tolkien. First-time readers and those who first read The Lord of the Rings, The Hobbit, and The Silmarillion longer ago than they care to think about, are all welcome. Presently we are working on reading The Fellowship of the Ring and discussing it chapter by chapter. This will be followed up with The Two Towers, and The Return of the King. Further readings will be determined by the group, as interest and time permit. Please note that this is not a LOTR movie discussion group except for discussions as to the differences between the books and film and the possible reasons they were made. Any arguments about "The books/movies were better" will be politely squelched by the moderators. Rules of the group are simple: Play nice, be respectful of others, and save any flames for lighting the campfire so we can toast marshmallows! This group replaces the Community_Reading_LOTR group that got stranded when the moderator's Yahoo ID self-destructed. You do not have to be a member of the previous group to join. All are welcome.
