Hi,

I don't recall hearing anyone talk about this:

"Also, after AmigaDOS 3.0 came out, there was a graphical programming
language intended for multimedia apps, called AmigaVision. You could
display images, play sounds, direct a laserdisc player to display
specific frames or clips, detect mouse clicks, etc. Even though it
  came for free with the A3000, it wasn't very popular, and there were
a few apps you could download written in it.

The most complex AmigaVision app I can recall off the top of my head
  was a walkthrough tour of Shakespeare's Globe theatre."

(urgh, sorry about any font differences (why does copy & paste include
font changes? why can't it just copy the *text*?)

Also, Yahoo has a nice feedback option on the bottom of the home page
which I used to let them know about my 999 error problems when
replying to emails via web-mail. They state that they won't get back
to you due to the amount of feedback they get, but hopefully they'll
read it and do something about it.

Lastly, going OT I just discovered the intro to The Girl From Tomorrow
(early 90's Australian TV series based on the book by the same name)
on YouTube. I had a huge crush on Lana when I first saw it on TV.
Shame it's not available on DVD :(
Cue link, for anyone interested:

Hehe, I goofed. That should be WMA format (WMV is video!).

Yeah, there's loads of stuff that is part of WinUAE. I haven't really
touched on any of it yet. I use my 2.05 workbench setup from my real
hardware combined with the 37.300 (A600HD) ROM.

Much like a quite popular computing organisation of today.
Hadn`t realised he was so set on bashing Commodore when
he was at Atari... Explains why I guess the 520 is a poor mans
Amiga... Er sorry to any Atari fans... Not for the comment, but
for the 520... sorry... only joking meant the 520ST... stop it...

Going now.

Amiga OS3.x+, OS3.x, OS3.x-, 1.3+ and 1.3 which I find
very confusing ... Never use it. Have fired it up twice probably
but can`t get my head round it cus it feels like just what it is,

>Autumn, in December?!

Not that strange given that winter starts on Dec 21st.

or to be absolutely precise.. 2007-2008 Dec. 22, 6:08 Mar. 20, 5:48 GMT

[ quote ]

Winter

The day when the north pole is furthest from the Sun is called the
'winter solstice'. The Sun crosses the sky at its lowest point all year.
Therefore it crosses the sky in the quickest time so this is the shortest
day of the year. Winter solstice happens around 22 December and marks
the start of winter. From then on, the days start getting longer.

[ end quote ]

Saying all that there are factual dates and there are other
factors. Many believe that the 21st Dec is midwinter.. But then
spring would start end of February. Personally I like winter
best so Dec 21 is fine with me... Jan is the best month
of the year... But then I love Mondays. The start of a week
and the beginning of a year are just so wonderful. I have
never understood anyone that celebrates so hard the birth
of a new year... then gets depressed the first month of it.

Autumn, in December?!

Yeah, funny but true. The leaves have started falling here too. Wet
and cold this weekend according to the weather forecast.
Fine by me as I'm gonna try and use WinUAE to convert my Amiga music
(MED format) to Windows Media Player (WMV) format - so non Amiga users
can listen to it :)

BTW, WinUAE can also output video too, to the codec file of your
choice. This makes it easy to create Amiga-based YouTube video's -
yes, I'm thinking of making one. Probably won't get around to it for
months though :(

Hi

Dunno if tri-annual is a word.. Anyway its time for the third
session scuzz gallery update... Phew. Just in time as well
as I think the old Amiga room is fit to bust. 12.08am in the
morning and just in from work... Nearly didn`t make it... I
got stopped by the police on the way home checking for
retro and driving... Actually drinking, but as I don`t drink and
given I had been at work all night I thought I could plead
with him to let me be tested, but he wouldn`t... ' Move along
sir... your not the kind of person we want ' Bugga. Never
mind.... I did try. A night in the cells... A villain... ar hum...
Not to be..

Anyway on that police thang.. Spidey of this group had his
house burgled, and they took all his electrical gear but
left his Atari and monitor... He wasn`t that upset, only pissed
that they didn`t think his Atari was worth stealing... They will
never find his kit though... The police have more important
things to do... Like stopping folk like me on their way home
from work cus they think we are villains... Giggles.

Anyway... to scuzzfest or should I say scuzzfestive and a week
off work to play with the old retro.... MAGIC !!

If you want something really uncredibelievabubble, get one of these:

http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=230197477841

It provides what the new PPC Amigas & Pegs are missing...good broadcast
quality video editing, with a lowly 50MHz 060 :^) I'm not sure if this
one has the FireWire board or not. I have the FireWire option in mine.

The Phase5 Prototype PPC board plugged into the 060 socket of one of
their MKII's. I'd assume that would work with other 060 cards too. It
would certainly be a welcome addition to my DraCo.

That would be for the ROM cartridges. There weren't many made, and if
you watch eBay for them you'll find they got for fairly decent prices -
especially the Ultimate ones. There were only 10 ever released:

* Backgammon (Psion)
* Chess (Psion)
* Cookie (Ultimate)
* Horace and the Spiders (Melbourne House)
* Hungry Horace (Melbourne House)
* Jetpac (Ultimate)
* Planetoids (Psion)
* Pssst (Ultimate)
* Space Raiders (Psion)
* Tranz Am (Ultimate)

If you look at the cartridges section of the third one of those links:

You'll find details on how to make new ones, and I've seen somebody on
eBay selling one that can contain 4 games on it:
