Subject: SCOUT DAY WITH THE DU MEN'S BASKETBALL TEAM!!

SCOUT LEADER AND PARENTS!!!

It’s time to once again to cheer on you DU Pioneers, this time on the hard court!

Mark your calendars for Saturday, January 27, as the DU Men’s Basketball team takes on 2006 Sun Belt Conference Champions Western Kentucky in this heated conference rival showdown!  The real fun starts prior to the game, as the DU Basketball team and coaching staff will lead the scouts in a series of drills and contests for some great DU prizes!  All Scouts that attend will receive a DU Basketball T-shirt and Scout Patch!

Attached is a flyer with all the details.  Mark your calendars TODAY and please bring this to your next Pack Meeting, as this will surely be another well attended event by the scouts!

Get in early and your Pack may have a chance to do the color guard for this event!

Please let me know if you have any questions.  We look forward to another awesome event with the scouts!

Hello everyone,

It was so much fun seeing so many of you at RT the other night!!!
I wanted to tell you about something that has changed a bit this year for the Spirit of Polaris Award.
ALL nominations will need to be to the scout office for our Outstanding Scouters and District Award of Merit nominees. That also goes for Spirit of Polaris winners. For those of you that have no idea what a Spirit of Polaris is, it is a special award given to those people in your units and our district that may not have completed enough of the requirements (such as district or council service) for the District Award of Merit, but still deserve recognition above or including the outstanding scouter (this is great for people who already have the outstanding scouter, but have yet earned the DAM)

I am asking that anyone who has a nomination for a Spirit of Polaris recipient to please email me directly (jkrkman@...) with a paragraph or so on why this person deserves this accolade and what they have done. I will need the name of the person nominating them, the unit number the person is in, and any other info you would like us to know. In subject line, please put SOP or something scout related, I tend to delete things I don't recognize.

I also need this in no later than Jan 26th, along with the rest of the nomination forms please, but the regular ones go to the office, I just would like the Spirit of Polaris nominations. Please also realize, if your nominee is accepted, they will need to be paid for by the unit or however your unit works this dinner.

Also, missing from our form was attire, you may either wear your Class A OR since this is an island Luau theme, you may were that attire as well. We may have the room HOT, to get the "feel" LOL

(Note to district and new District Dinner committee-we need this nomination form available next year please)

Thank you everyone!!! Look forward to seeing you all at the Dinner!!!

ALOHA,
Karen Mansfield

Calling all Scouters

As everyone is aware Klondoree is coming up in less then a month and the troop needs adult support for logistics, organization and execution of this years Klondoree.

Kondoree is February 9, 10, and 11.  The Big day is Saturday the 10th when all the events will be taking place.

What we need:  To make the Klondoree a success we need to staff the many events and support the overall administration of the camp.  To do this we need adult volunteers in the following areas
  • Meal Planning – We need some adults to take on the task of planning easy to prepare meals that can be served quickly to the entire troop.
  • Food Shoppers – If you cannot help with preparation and serving you may be able to help just by acquiring what we need.
  • Food preparation – any food that could be prepared ahead of time and taken up to camp.  This will depend on the meal planning.
  • Meal Servers – We need volunteers to be there on Saturday to help cook, serve, and cleanup.  If the main preparation can be done ahead of time then we can cook less on site.
  • Awards – We have 10 events that will have 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place ranking and we need a volunteer to come up with ribbons, preferably customized for the 2007 Klondoree.  We will most likely have some other miscellaneous awards that will need ribbons as well.  We are looking for someone to head up the effort of designing and acquiring the ribbons.
  • Score Keepers – Each event will be scored by the scouts and we will need volunteers to keep the running totals through the day so that when the final events are completed we can quickly determine the overall winners.
  • Miscellaneous - We could use all the help we can get just to have backup for logistics or events.
When do we need you:  The most pressing need is for volunteers who can be there all day on Saturday the 10th of February from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm.  If you do not want to camp but are willing to stay overnight off site that is perfectly fine.

How many do we need: Meal planning and serving 15, awards 1 or 2, Scoring 4.  We are looking for an additional 20 or so adults who can attend for the day on Saturday.

Please reply to mike.cooke@... with your availability and what you would like to help with.  Please do not hesitate to suggest ways in which we can make the meal prep and delivery easier.

Thank You
Troop 645 Adult Leadership

Subject: Troop 645 volunteer request

Please reply to mike.cooke@bi.com with your availability and what you would like to help with.  Please do not hesitate to suggest ways in which we can make the meal prep and delivery easier.

Thank You
Troop 645 Adult Leadership

Just a reminder please.
The DROP DEAD date for the outstanding scouter award for our dinner is on Friday the 9th. NO OS nominations will be taken after that. They must be in and PAID, for them to be put on the list. Also, anyone wanting to attend after that date, must go to the door and be added as a walk in. Repeat, NO OS award nominations will be taken after the 9th, they will be added as a guest only after that date.

If you wouldn't mind getting this out to your units asap, I would appreciate it.

Thank you all!!!
