What should be done if Eid coincides with Friday

If Eid al-Fitr coincides with Friday, is it permissible for me to pray the Eid prayer and not to pray Jumu�ah or vice versa?

Praise be to Allaah.

If the day of Eid coincides with Friday, then whoever prays Eid with the imaam does not have to attend Jumu�ah (it is not obligatory on him); in his case it becomes Sunnah. If he does not pray Jumu�ah, he has to pray Zuhr. This is in the case of people other than the imaam. As for the imaam, he has to be present for Jumu�ah and lead those Muslims who attend the prayer. The Jumu�ah prayer should not be forsaken completely on this day.

There is a great reward in attending Janazah salah and burial for whomsoever can make it.

We want to do what ever it takes to help educate nonmuslims about islam from the muslims. Also some steps will be used to help each other to learn how to speak to nonmuslims by using the quran and sunnah. One thing that would be helpful is if you can watch my PBS show on June 17th at 9pm which will focus on Sudan and Darfur and tell others to watch.... and call in with your opinon/comments.

‘Alî, the Armor and the Christian

During his Caliphate, ‘Alî b. Abî Tâlib – Allah be pleased with him – saw some armor of his with a Christian. He decided to take the matter up legally, so he took the dispute to Shurayh (the Judge).

‘Alî said, “This is my armor, and I have not sold it nor given it away.” Shurayh said to the Christian, “What have you to say about what the Amîr of the Believers claims?” The Christian replied, “It is my armor, although I do not regard the Amîr of the Believers to be a liar.” Shurayh then turned to ‘Alî, “O Amîr of the Believers, do you have any proof (of ownership)?” ‘Alî laughed and said, “Shurayh is correct, I have no proof.” So Shurayh judged that the armor was the Christian’s. The Christian took it and began to walk away but then returned. He proclaimed, “As for me, I testify that this is the judgment of the Prophets – the Amîr of the Believers himself takes me to his judge and the judge rules against him! I bear witness that there is no deity deserving worship but Allâh and I bear witness that Muhammad is the Messenger of Allâh. By Allâh, the armor is yours o Amîr of the Believers. I followed the army when you were on your way to the Battle of Siffîn and the armor came out of your equipment.” ‘Alî said, “If you have accepted Islâm the armor is yours.” And then he put him on his horse. Al-Sha’bî (the reporter of this incident) said, “I was later informed by those who saw this man that he fought the Khawârij (alongside ‘Alî) at the battle of Nahrawân.”

Asalam aleikum,

I have newly moved here (Co) from England and am very interested in getting to
know my fellow muslimahs here and getting involved with the various activities
at the masajid...I was wondering if any muslimahs on here would be interested in
getting together and if there are any muslim women's groups in Colorado? I am
bilingual in English and Arabic and so would love to meet both speakers :-)

to do when I come to Denver as Immigrant (juste three months ago !!!). Come to
Denver Muslim Community Center at: Evans and Colorado Boulevard. There you will
find inchallah the help you need.

I am Irfan Sheikh (origin Pakistan) planning to relocate Denver, CO in July, as per my job requirement. My work place is near Denver Airport, I am looking for a place close a Islamic center (Mosque). Please advise me the areas as am not familiar with Denver.

In addition let me know if there is a two or three bedroom apartment/house is available with in the range of a Islamic center/mosque .

3. Select Satellite to see the actual places, as the view of the program Google Earth.

4. Locate your home or your location.

5. You will find a sign + in the middle of the page Put your home in the middle of the mark.

6. You will find a red line from Ela? E + and at the end of the Kaaba.

7. This trend line is the direction of Mecca.
