Dear Collin County LPers,
Barry Cooper of http://www.kopbusters.com recently declared that he is running
for Texas Attorney General as a Libertarian. In addition to continuing to run
"reverse sting" operations on corrupt police (more information is available at
the prior webpage, or by performing a youtube search for: Barry Cooper), he has
recently taken a hard stance in defense of proper "common law" jury trials, and
the right of jurors to vote their consciences. Of course, most people are not
fully aware of the ways in which we have lost our right to a proper jury trial,
so some further explanation is needed.
A common law jury contains jurors who understand that, once seated, they are
superior in power to the judge and prosecutor. Even one such juror is enough to
hang a jury, providing a way for strong-willed individuals to limit unjust state
punishment.
Jury rights have been gradually eroded in several ways that take too long to
cover here, so I have provided the following links:

http://isil.org/resources/lit/history-jury-null.html
http://isil.org/resources/lit/new-hope-fija.html
http://www.juryduty.org/JuryDuty.htm -Clay Conrad's advice on "Surviving Voir
Dire" (the jury selection process)
So how do we get this information into the minds of the jurors, where it needs
to be?
Simple: We hand jury rights pamphlets to incoming jurors. By educating people
who have shown up to the courthouse as prospective jurors, we are waging a war
of information against tyranny on its home turf.
Is it risky? Yes, it is. Judges will typically send out police to threaten
jury rights activists with arrest. Therefore it's a good thing that there are
people like Barry Cooper and his team of "kopbusters" who are willing to do it
for us. You can contribute to Barry's campaign online at
http://www.electbarrycooper.com or call me to contribute over the phone at
907-250-5503.
With every person who learns their power as a juror, we are closer to a rule of
law that will refuse to convict individuals of nonviolent, victimless crimes.
In the words of Lysander Spooner, "Vices are not crimes".
If you agree, and would like to see a flood of online and major media promoting
this message, please contribute to Barry Cooper's campaign for AG, since
contributing early magnifies the effect of the contribution. (Twenty thousand
might win the campaign if it was donated today, because it could purchase
additional fundraising capacity, via the media. A million dollars wouldn't win
the campaign if it was contributed the week before the election.)
Thank you all for seeing, thinking, and acting,
Jake Witmer
