This is an organizing listserve for the SW Florida CODEPINK Chapter located in Fort Myers, FL.

CODEPINK is a women-initiated grassroots peace and social justice movement working to end the war in Iraq, stop new wars, and redirect our resources into healthcare, education and other life-affirming activities. We reject the Bush administration's fear-based politics that justify violence, and instead call for policies based on compassion, kindness and a commitment to international law. With an emphasis on joy and humor, CODEPINK women and men seek to activate, amplify and inspire a community of peacemakers through creative campaigns and a commitment to non-violence.

Our SW Florida Group will work in concert with National CODEPINK, CODEPINK Florida and will also engage in our own creative non-violent actions for peace here in Fort Myers and surrounding areas. We call on all outraged women to join us in taking a stand, now. And we call upon our brothers to join with us and support us. We will stand in the streets and marketplaces of our towns with banners and signs of dissent, and talk to our neighbors, stand before our elected representatives: and if they will not listen, sit in their offices, refusing to leave until they do. Please join us as we withdraw consent from the warmongers and engage in outrageous acts of dissent.
