Description

This is a group in which collectors of Action/Adventure or Science Fiction oriented newspaper comic strips can meet to discuss, trade, buy or sell the strips.

Discussions about writers and artists of these famous strips are also welcome. Unfortunately, it seems the era of the adventure strip is slowly dying out as less and less newspapers carry adventure strips. Here fans can discuss classic and contemporary newspaper strips and hopefully help each other out in filling in gaps in their own personal collections.

Examples of Action/Adventure and Sci-Fi strips discussed are

Flash Gordon, Buck Rogers, The Phantom, Terry and the Pirates, Wash Tubbs and Captain Easy, Buz Sawyer, Brick Bradford, Jungle Jim, Tarzan, Mandrake the Magician, Secret Agent X-9, Rip Kirby, Sky Roads, Star Wars, Star Trek, Beyond Mars, Don Dixon, Sky Masters, Space Conquerors, Speed Spaulding, Star Hawks, Tom Corbett, Twin Earths, John Carter of Mars, Charlie Chan, Fu Manchu, Invisible Scarlet O'Neil, Batman, Spider-Man, Superman, World's Greatest Superheroes, Modesty Blaise, Steve Canyon, James Bond, The Saint, Little Orphan Annie and Sherlock Holmes

Examples of writers and artists discussed are

Alex Raymond, Austin Briggs, Mac Raboy, Dan Barry, Jim Keefe (a group member!), Philip Nowlan, Dick Calkins, Rick Yager, Len Dworkins, Murphy Anderson, George Tuska, Gray Morrow, Edgar Rice Burroughs, Hal Foster, Burne Hogarth, Russ Manning, Al Williamson, Milton Caniff, George Wunder, Roy Crane, Sy Barry, Wilson McCoy, Jack Kirby, Peter O'Donnell, Warren Tufts, Enrique Romero, Frank Bellamy, Frank Goodwin, Harold Gray, Lee Falk, Don Moore and Thomas Warkentin
