Description

All about Class 2 rigid wing hang gliding

Class 2 is the 'open' class for rigid wing hang gliders. The Swift, Swift'Light, Atos, Millennium, Ghostbuster and Archaeopterix are examples of Class 2 gliders. Of the gliders listed in the previous sentence the Atos, and Ghostbuster also belong to Class 5, which has more strict design criteria. Class 2 is therefore considered more 'open' than Class 5, where 'open' is a neutral concept (neither good nor bad). Class 2 gliders which don't also belong to Class 5 tend to have better performance than Class 5 gliders, usually because of a fuselage-like fairing, which is not allowed in Class 5.
