This group is intended to serve as a discussion forum and communications listserv for the Civil Liberties Alliance (CLA) of Knoxville/Knox County.

The CLA is an organization linking people from all walks of life in Knox County to protect the fundamental rights of citizens and residents in the United States of America. Specifically, the CLA has gathered to protect all people from the dangerous attacks on civil rights posed by the USA PATRIOT Act and its likely successor legislation. Our goal is to make Knox County and the Greater Knoxville community a "civil liberties safe zone" and to unite progressive individuals through organizing and consciousness raising around this issue.
