Description

This is a list to discuss all aspects of civilian life during the Civil War era, this includes customs, material culture, religion, politics, and all else that affected the citizens of the era and their thought pattern. This list will also include things that might pertain to the older generations of the Civil War era as well. Therefore still on topic for this list would be the decades preceeding the war (1790-1860).

Also on topic for the list would be how to research and use the above information to improve one's impression as a living historian, as well as AARs (after action reports) of the better events. Discussion on how to interpret to the public, interact with other reenactors, and improving one's own impression are always on topic.
