A circuit party is a large event, generally open to anyone but attended almost exclusively by gay men and their friends. They are held throughout the year in popular travel destinations. Each event usually has a theme, and is essentially a mega dance party, that can extend through the night and into the next day, often with a number of related events in the preceding and following days.

There can be one or multiple DJs presiding over the event, and the DJ rules. The general type of music depends on the nature of the event, and can range from fluffy "hands in the air" to deep, dark trance.
