Sorry for so many CKI messages and emails, but this one is
important (not that the others aren't) :)

Your progress report is up-to-date and should include everything
from the semester this far. I just wanted to make sure that you
all know how many hours you have before the semester is over, so
you can become active. If you're active, you'll get an awesome
active member award and be recognized when we come back in the
Spring!

Here's the list of people that are already active:
Marsha Cohen
Courtney Collings
Jillian DeGuzman
Lesleyanne Drake
Sara Fruithandler
Devon Holder
Katherine Holmes
Ashley Keenum
Danielle Langford
Paul LaPlante
Katie Marshall
Marissa McGehe
Kanyon McLean
Kristina Neamon
Shaine Nudel
Amanda Rigney
Kelly Roan
Stacy Satterwhite
Chelsey Solar
Samantha Tucker
Megan Waterhouse
Danielle Wish

Great job you guys! A lot of you are very close to becoming
active. It's not too late!!

If you need service hours, there's an Adopt-a-Street on Friday
from 9:30-11:30 AM and Prime Time After School Program any week
day from 2-5 PM. There's also our ongoing service projects
(donate
blood, can tabs for Ronald McDonald House, Trick-or-Treat for
UNICEF, Toiletries, and Locks of Love) and you can donate fabric,
but we limit these ongoing donations to 5 service hours. Just let
me know if you donate any of these or go to Prime Time.

Socials: MD&E Walk, Skate Station Fundraiser/Social, and you can
do something with your Big K/Little K family (minimum of 5
members).

If you are short on meetings, you can also make these up with
service hours because I know some of you had to miss meetings
because of class or a test. The committee chairs are also still
sending me lists of active members in their committee, so that may
change for you.

Thank you for reading all of this! Let me know if you have any
questions! Good luck with all your
finals, and have an awesome break!

Hey everyone!

It's almost the end of the semester, so that means it's getting
down to the wire to become an active member! There are still
plenty of opportunities to get your hours. All of the events for
the rest of the semester are in the minutes.

Here's what you need to be active:
20 service hours
6 meetings
5 socials (only 3 can come from intramurals)
Be active on your committee
Pay dues

Let me know if you have any questions! Good luck with finals :)

This year I am a senior at the College of Wooster.  At Wooster, all seniors are required to complete a Senior Independent Study Project.  For my project I am looking at "What Motivates College Students to do Community Service".  I felt that this was a pretty fitting topic for this year.  Below is the link to the survey that goes along with my study.  Participation in this study is 100% voluntary.  I have attached the consent form.  If you choose to continue on with the survey then that counts as you giving me your consent.  Thank you all in advance for your time and I would appreciate if you could forward this on to your districts and clubs!!

Hi everyone!

Here are the meeting minutes and the most recent progress report (excluding today's events) to see how close you are to becoming an active member.

Remember the requirements to become active are:
20 service hours
6 meetings
5 socials – Only 3 can come from intramurals
Be active on a committee – Complete at least 2 tasks for your committee
Pay dues (yearly)

Fundraising and K-Family events are not requirements.

There are still plenty of projects planned for the rest of the semester to become active. Good luck on achieving active member status! Let me know if you have any questions or ever want to know your most recent hour totals. Also, let me know if you have helped your committee.

tonight, here are some updates.

Dessert Party for the Victory School - Saturday, November 21
Will count as service hours and for a social.
If you donate a baked good, you get an additional service hour.
If you are on the service committee, donating a baked good also
counts as a task.
$5 to enter for a night of fun, amazing desserts, and the
fantabulous feeling that you made a difference :-)
This is a great way to get in those last active member
requirements!

Bake-a-thon - Sunday, November 22
11:00 AM - 5:00 PM
Shifts: 11 - 1, 1 - 3, 3 - 5
We will be baking for those in need.
If you have any recipes or even vague ideas of what you would like
to bake, please send them my way.
If you have not signed up and are interested in attending, please
let me know which shift you will be going to.

Stop! Children's Cancer Holiday Concert
Sunday, November 29
We will be helping clean up after the reception from 6:30 - 9:00
PM.
The concert is at 4:00. If you are interested in attending the
concert, I can arrange for you to go for free, but you still have
to stay for clean up because that is when they need help.
Please let me know if you can help because the lady in charge
would like me to give her a head count by November 20.

Hello Kiwanis Family Members!

The 2nd Annual Kiwanis Family of Tampa Bay BBQ is just around the corner!
This event is hosted by the University of Tampa Club of Circle K International and will be held right on our campus located in downtown Tampa on Sunday, November 15th. This is a wonderful opportunity for all of the branches of the K-Family to get together, eat, and have a ton of fun! There will be games, volleyball, and prizes in addition to the rare chance to see members from all around the area.

To make this event a success we need your help! Please, spread the word to your club members and friends throughout the district!  If you have any questions, feel free to e-mail me or contact me at the number below. I hope to hear from all of you!

Have a fabulous day!

Hello again!

Here is your progress report to see your active member status. Congratulations to those of you who have achieved active member status already! If one of your boxes is blue, you have satisfied that requirement. Fundraising hours and K-Family events are not a requirement, but I thought they would be useful. Remember, in order to get $20 back from dues, you must complete 12 fundraising hours per year or 6 per semester.

Please let me know if something is incorrect, especially the number of committee tasks that you've completed, so we can fix it ASAP. The end of the semester is coming very soon; you should try your hardest these next few weeks to attain active member status! Don't forget about our ongoing service projects, if you are close on service hours. Also, we only have 3 club meetings left, and don't forget to pay dues!

There will be no club meeting next Wednesday, November 11 for Veteran's Day, so here are the upcoming events for the next 2 weeks: Retirement Home for the Horses, TailGator Recycling, Emeritus Fall Window Painting, Wilmot Gardens Restoration Project, Kiwanis Meetings, Builders Club Meeting, Prime Time After School Tutoring, Hope Lodge Game Night, Idylwild Fall Festival, Big K/Little K Reveal, and Salvation Army. Concessions were cancelled for Monday, November 9 and Tuesday, November 17.

I hope to see you all at an upcoming project! Let me know if you any questions about anything :D

Hey Fantabulous CKIers! As you already read from Danielle's message, we will be making care packages for children in the Guardian ad Litem Program for our service project at IDEAS. As a Guardian ad Litem, I would like to tell you all a little about the program and encourage you to donate to this worthy cause. The mission of the Guardian Ad Litem Program (GAL) is to advocate for the best interests of children who are alleged to be abused, neglected, or abandoned and who are involved in court proceedings. As a Guardian ad Litem, I make monthly visits to my child and gather information from various sources that allows me to make recommendations. Many children in the program come from families of a lower socioeconomic status and could really use some extra TLC.

Please consider donating the following items:
-Children's toys (gently used)
-Children's books (age-appropriate for Birth-12)
-Gently used children's clothes
-Stuffed animals
-Toiletries
-Blankets
-Baby needs (diapers, wipes, etc)
-Small-Medium sized bags to stuff

If you are going to IDEAS, you can bring them with you, and if you aren't, you can bring donations to the meeting on Wednesday.

Thanks,
Marsha

Hello Florida!

This year at the IDEAS Conference, we will be working on Care Bags for the children in the Guardian ad Litem program of Hillsborough County.  However, in order to make the most out of our donations, we need your help.

If you can work with your club to try to collect some of the following items, we would appreciate it:
-Children's toys (gently used)
-Children's books (age-appropriate for Birth-12)
-Gently used children's clothes
