  Sorry I haven't written more, I got really busy for a while, but I have
more time now.
  Starting ball gowns eh? Sounds exciting, I hope sometime I can see them.
  As for me , I haven't done anything, costume wise, lately. I have been
trying to finish a quilting job I took for someone a year ago, I have
decided I won't take on any more  projects until I finish it, I tell you
though, it's the last time I ever do anything like it, I didn't like
working on someone else's project.

I've decided to introduce myself to the list.  My name is Jessica.  I am 18
and have done costumes for 10 plays and musicals.  6 in the last 2 years.  I
am currently going to college for fashion merchandising but I plan to pursue
costume design as a second career.  In my area costume designers aren't paid
to well and usually need to do several plays as well as work multiple jobs
at once to support themselves and thier families.  Well that's me.

I am here!  I have a 3 year old and a newborn so I have been very busy
lately!  My 3 year old just started ballet AND gymnastics so I am not around
home as often anymore.  I am waiting to get  some photographs back so I can

  All I did to get these pictures out was take photos of my dresses, and
then get them on disk when I have them developed, then I save them into
my documents, it works..

Okay,
  Well, about a year ago, a friend of mine and here sister stayed up one
messing around with my video camera, making music video's and stuff, and
I had just seen Titanic a few days before, and I suggested we do a spoof
on it, so we did, totally from the hip, in my living room. Well, we loved
it and had so much fun, that it got my little brain thinking about it all
year. So i started making costumes and such, not really thinking it would
happen.
  Well, then I wrote a script and made more costumes, by this time I was
determined to do it, so I asked a bunch of friends to be involved. We had
two locations to film, one was upstairs in our old fashioned general
store, it has a nice staircase, and the "Studio" as it called, just a
room fixed up and it looks like the interior of a ship, really, painted
with boat paint and all, so that was our primary location, I hope that
made sense.
  Anyway, around the end of June, my friends all got together, and we
began, we had a few props, the clock I made out of a big peice of
cardboard, a fake life preserver and a ships railing, which I purchased
through a prom catalog.
  The guy who played Jack is a professional actor from New York, who did
it as a favor to me.He was awesome, bad wig and all!(:
  My friend reprised her role as Rose and she was great!
  We did it in about a week, with a few scenes added later on.
  We had a lot of fun and laughed a lot and it turned out great, the only
problem is I had to work with 2 antiquated old VCR's, so I couldn't get
the editing done the way I wanted..
  But all in all it was a great experience and we had a lot of fun.
  I hope this tells you a little about my movie, and I am planning one for
next year, I am hoping to do Anne Of Green Gables, we'll see. That is a
bigger story than this one was, I will let you know what happens.

  Sounds like you have some great hobbies and if you ever get photos of
them, I would love to see them.
  Here are a few pictures of the hat I made for my movie. I went with
different colors, just cause they were all I had, I was matching a shirt
I had.

Victorian wedding dresses, also costumes.

  I am glad you responded and that you enjoy the things I do.
  There are some good Titanic patterns available, an exact copy of the
dinner dress is available through Harper House, but you have to go to
their web site to see it, I think it's www.harperhouse.com.
  Another good pattern is available throught Simplicity, see the attched
photo.
  I will try to post some of the pic's of the dresses I made soon.
  If you can send any photos of your costumes too, I think they sound
cool!

  Tai here, I am so happy people are responding to my list, I have had it
for a while but have had no responses until recently.
  Like I said before, I wanted to create a list where we can talk about
pretty things we love and love to do, things like costume making, art,
music, what projects we have done and will do, favorite movies, where to

  My favorite movie is Titanic, I loved it so much I made a spoof about it

          I am also a BIG fan of Titanic.  I loved the costumes and I'm
currently looking for a good pattern I could use to make one of the dresses.
   I like to make costumes and just recently got involved in making historic
costumes.  Before now I have only made things like serving wenches and
gypsys...although those have been very popular with some of my friends.
Maybe we can share some costuming and sewing ideas...

very busy.
  As for this site, well, I want this site to be dedicated to pretty
things, anyone can contribute anything they have done, artistically or
whatever.
  Myself, I am into costume making. I love to sew and have recreated
several outfits, in my own way, from the movie "Titanic", my favorite
movie, I made the "I'm Flying", outfit,
the"Jumping over the side",dress and many more.
  I am currently interested in making Victorian outfits.

  If anyone one knows where I can get "Anne of Green Gable", style
