Oh man, you've outdone yourself! Thanks for sharing this Monty. I'm
going to share it with the Firesign Theater lists, maybe there are some
geocachers on those lists. I hope Phil Austin finds out about this, it
might turn him into a geocacher if he's not one already. - S.

hi scott:

hope all is well with you and the family.

i was working on my latest series of geocaches and you came to mind for
more
than one reason.

first, the series is dedicated to the firesign theatre.

next, i was listening to "broken interference" while doing so. if you
remember, i put "wild beasts of salvador" on the end of that
compilation.

i thought you might be interested in the series.

this link will take you to the page with all 17 caches listed on it.

http://www.geocaching.com/seek/nearest.aspx?key=fst%3A&submit4=Find

i worked for about 3 months on this series from logistics, actual
hides,
building the cache pages and the sound clips for each page.

if you were a geocacher (hey! i thought everyone in the pacific
northwest
geocaches! that's where it was originated.) i'm sure you'd enjoy
finding
these little treasure boxes.

they are in the following locations (in the order they come up on the
web
page):

how can you be in two places at once. . . : on the state line up at
south
lake tahoe.

in the next world. . .: this one's a toughie. it's an altoids strip
tin
glued to the bottom of a rock in front of a store named world market.
true
seekers will be able to see it. the rock is rectangular and flat
amongst a
bunch of roundish river rocks in a flowerbed.

4 or 5 crazy guys: this is the only one in the series that's not
dedicated
to a recording. this one's in an ammo can out in the desert. you have
to
find the other 16 to find this one.

don't crush that dwarf. . .: this one is right in front of snap-on
tools.
there should be lots of pliers in there! it's also hidden on a very
large
power pole. since the cache is an altoids tin, the tower makes it a
dwarf.

forward into the past is on a sign for virginia city "where the past
comes
alive" if you keep driving forward.

eat or be eaten is at an old restaurant that has an old log cabin out
front.
looks like you may be eaten if you go inside the cabin.

shoes for industry is in a shopping mall parking lot (well hidden) in
front
of a shoe store.

waiting for the electrician. . . is hidden under a night payment box
at
sierra pacific power.

. . . bozos. . . is locate at a bus stop at reno's largest mall. this
has
been a tricky find for several folks. it's hidden very well.

not insane is hidden at a video store named "video maniacs." i looked
all
over for crazy something and had to settle for this.

everything you know is wrong is at the university. nuff sed.

give me immortality. . . this one is in front of a plastic surgeon.
it's
velcroed on the walk/don't walk light.

fighting clowns is in front of the state legislature. everyone likes
this
location. i wonder why? ;-)

dear friends is in front of dos amigos restaurant. it's attached to
the
underside of the bottom of a fire hydrant with a magnet.

giant rat is in front of chucky cheese.

boom dot bust is at boomtown on i-80.

the bride is in front of one of the many wedding chapels in reno. you
are
mentioned on this cache page.

i'm trying to come up with a plan to do a krimson series. not sure if
i'll
name the caches after the albums or after the various band members.
maybe
i'd better come up with something else. either of those will mean a
bunch
of caches.

this geocaching thing is getting really hot!

it's my #1 hobby. as of today i have found 351 caches and hidden 55
of
them.

my girlfriend is really hooked. she started a little over a year ago
and
has found over 450.

i have a travel bug (an item with a serial numbered tag with one or
more
destinations for cachers to carry from one cache to another) a couple
hours
north of you that i started in may. it's a little voodoo doll that a
friend
got me as a souvenir in new orleans. i named it "voodoo child (slight
return)." it was just at jimi's gravesite the other day. you can
check it
out here: http://www.geocaching.com/track/details.aspx?id=64347 if
you
scroll down to the logs, you can click to see the images. got some
cool
pics with the bug and the memorial. it's also wants to go to the
experience
music project, monterey, woodstock, isle of wight and any location
jimi
played or has some kind of hendrix history.

well, i've carried on long enough.

i gotta get a life!

cache you later.
