The China Study Tour (28 November 2009 - 29 January 2010) is an intensive nine week course of study in Chinese language, culture and society which includes eight weeks of classes and one week of independent travel. It has been operating for over five years and has laid a solid foundation with very high participant satisfaction.
The study tour is open to participants aged over 18, whose Chinese Mandarin language skills range from beginners (nil!) to native speakers. You do not have to be a university student to take part. Mature aged students welcome!
You may be able to receive 12 points of credit towards your degree if you are a university student. Students from The University of Western Australia may also be eligible for a Study Abroad Bursary (bursary apps close on 7th August, so be quick!). See the Message Board for more details.
The program is split between Zhejiang University (ZJU) in beautiful Hangzhou and the Beijing Institute of Education (BIE) in historic Beijing. You can also choose just to take the half-programme in either Hangzhou or Beijing (at half the price of the overall tuition fee).
The intensive classes cover all facets of language (i.e. speaking, listening, reading and writing). Extracurricular activities are included which invite students to immerse themselves in Chinese culture and practise their newly acquired language skills.
This yahoo group is designed specifically as a group discussion board. For further information on the tour and application forms please visit the related Confucius Institute weblink below.
