This Yahoo group is for you to easily submit manuscripts and access submissions by other writers in the group. All other communications will take place through Meetup.com.

To Upload a Manuscript:

Go to Files on the lefthand side, select the correct file by the date of the meetup, either click Add File or click the title of the submission you'd like to download.

Submission Guidelines:

-You do not have to submit to participate! Not everyone will have something ready for critique every time. It is encouraged that you read others' submissions, critique, and attend Meetups while you work on your writing privately.

-Your work must be saved as a rich text format (.rtf) file, so that both Mac & PC users can access the file.

-Submissions should be no longer than 5000 words, in a standard font, and double-spaced with normal margins (unless experiments with format are absolutely critical to the work). For plays/screenplays, please follow the appropriate format for the genre.

-If you submit, you must attend the following Meetup (unless, of course, there's an emergency/crisis). In general, it's inconsiderate to have others take the time to read and comment on your work and then not show up on critique day.

-While your work is being discussed, try to refrain from commenting, explaining, or defending. Once everyone else has spoken, you will be allowed a few minutes to explain things that may have been misinterpreted. But keep in mind: it's not as important to explain in group as it is to revise your work to ensure those gaps are filled on the page.

-If you've already RSVP'd for a meeting but are unable to make it and have already viewed writers' work, please consider passing along your comments to the author privately via individual email before the following Meetup.

-Be compassionate with comments -- while constructive criticism is very beneficial to writers, it's also useful for writers to know what works in their compositions.
