We oppose the annual glorification of cars known as the Chicago Auto Show. The automobile and oil industries are selling automobile dependence wrapped up in shiny packages. They even have the audacity to host a charity event to promote the number one killer of children in the U.S. We will take on the multi-billion dollar marketing machine of the car and oil industries through grassroots activism and show people the alternatives to automobile hegemony.

"Why are we protesting the Auto Show?  Because the automobile and oil industries put on this show to glorify automobiles.  Because we believe that our children deserve to live in a world where 43,000 Americans and a million people worldwide are not killed by cars every year, and where congestion, smog, global warming, and urban sprawl do not threaten their health and their economy.  Our city, our nation, and our planet deserve better."
