Hi Caiterina,
Lourdes mentioned that she was probably going to be using the stripes
on her device, so I thought I would include a graphic of that for you
if it would be helpful... so here you are.
Thanks again for the help.

which is possible. Thanks. :)

"Hey Joe I got those pics of that armour I told you about. I was
looking on this group and noticed we dont have a photo album. Can
we add one? If so ill post them here?"
That sounds great, I think that you should be able to add them on
your own??? If you can do it, then please by all means go ahead I
would love to see it. If not let me know and I will see what I can
do on my end to make it happen, whatever that might be??? (I am new
to this moderator thing)
"See you tonight at practice."
I will try to be at practice tonight, but I do have class and that
runs until about 8:00ish and it's on base, so I will get there when
I can. Who else is planning on going to practice tonight?
Also, I found out what that Viking Tournament thing was you were
telling me about...It is a fundrasing event when teams in groups of
10 run for 24 hours straight in one hour one hour shifts. I don't
know about you but I am VERY glad I missed that event.
Hey Joe I got those pics of that armour I told you about. I was

Y'know, we have always gone this event, and had a great time, but with it being a potluck this year, and the weather iffy . . . I'm not sure we'll be able to go. If we don't, Best of luck and skill to Annabelle, and I expect a FULL report!
~Caiterina
P.S. - Tristan came through surgery well, and is on the road to recovery. He has jury duty now, so he won't pick up the phone, but he'd probably appreciate messages (707-718-4927) or cards (512 Elizabeth St. Apt A, Vacaville, CA 95688)!
Welcome Rick and Heather, Glad to see that you could finally join
the group. Feel free to ask any questions that you have, and we
will answer them as best we can. :)
Hello all. Just wanted to say that we are happy to become members to
the Yahoo group and look forward to messages received here.
See you all at the next meeting.

I just thought I'd announce that I've opened a new section on our
website for photos; you can find the link in the menu on all the
pages. Also while I was at it I stuck up a nifty pic of a target full
of arrows on the Archery page and some photos of my own lovely self on
my personal page in the Members section. :)
~Sabina
That's what I get for missing a meeting...I wasn't aware that the B&W
was cancelled.
I'm going to Investiture if anyone wants to come see me at the archery
tourney (if I don't get a nosebleed this time...). ;)
Okay so, first Sunday of August then for the next meeting? I had
posted to this group a few days back but it never showed up (as
happens sometimes) so I want to repeat, I am having trouble getting
out to the Champclair meetings, so this might be a good time for y'all
to pick a new victim to run the website. :) I'm happy to do it and all
but if someone else can stay on top of it better then that's great,
especially now that I'm also doing Danegeld Tor's site now.
~Sabina
OK, I've thought about it, and checked my schedules, and since we've scotched Black and White for this year, I guess we really don't need a meeting, from my perspective anyway, until August.
I'm up for either switching it, or canceling, but the following weekend is Cynagua Investiture. People might be going.
We could have picnic a Sunday, if people aren't . . .
I'd have to say it boils down to whether or not we need a meeting this month. If we have matters that need attention, likely best to move it to the next weekend. If not, probably okay to just skip it.

For those who may not be on the SCA West list, there's a fighter
practice at the North Concord Bart station on Tuesday nights at 7pm.
It's a shorter trip than the Bart station in Oakland, though I
haven't been out to see how well attended it is, the comments I've
read so far sound promising.

900 huh? thats a lot of slav.....eerr I mean cute lil
children who I'm sure would love to put on some nice
matching Iron bracelets and take a trip to moorish
spain on old uncle raethrekr's magic longboat daycare
and child relocation program ;D
I've never been much good at games but it should
make the kids feel good about whooping the pants off
an adult. what is the exact date of the demo? I'll
mark it on my calender and see about finding a way
there.

This is a great communication tool - when I can use it!
I love the 9 Men's Morris idea. We actually have lots of boards from previous demos, and a paper master I was planning to give to teachers so the game could be taught beforehand. I have many many glass blobs. As to giving games out, we're expecting as many as 900 kids so I don't think that's reasonable, but maybe 6 sets to give as prizes in a tournement setup?
Chris, would you like to plan to be in charge of the games station?

That is exactly what I had in mind. contacting
folks and getting info to people between meetings is
dodgy at best.
Now onto the business, What activities do we have
planed out for the demo and how many children are
expected to be there? An idea for an activity struck
me the other day. If there were a small enough group
of children maybe we could make a few 5 man morris
game sets to pass out and teach them how to play. we
could make the "game boards" out of a stiff but cheap
felt and drawstring pouches out of a thinner felt. For
gaming pieces we could use the decorative glass blobs
that can be bought by the bag load from Michael's art
supply. The directions on how to play this game are
in the known world handbook. If we are expecting lots
of children then this might cost us a little too much
money. If that is so then can anyone think of some
alternatives or suggestions?
Chris.
