The purpose of this group is to provide a historical and cultural awareness of chachi's, many of whom descend from pushtun ancestory. There are many chachi's living in Western countries, this group can provide awareness for those youth who would like some information about their heritage. Chach is referred to an area called Attock, near the North-West of Pakistan. It is not referrred to a clan, caste or creed.
Not all chachi's are pathans, some are from kashmiri descent, and there also a minority of chachi's who descend from Africans, who came with the Arabs who brought Islam to present day Pakistan.
