You should have seen Us running back and forth from the cachemobile.
There was three of Us and The Flying Moose We each had a job lift pop
open..... put sticker......replace and run. Team work was what did it.
Even When The Outlaw's pants split at about #21 We didnt
stop ......the view did get better though. We even stopped to help a
muggle in distress about #23 It was at about cache #53 that We stopped
to let him buy new pants. We actually got 72 for the day. Addicted and
Lovin' it. I think We'er all on the same team for The Challange bring
it on BABY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Does anyone have a suggestion for a good place to buy a Garmin Vista Cx for
less that $349? A lot less would be even better. :-)

I don't know of a good place to buy, but if you're a GPSBabel, GSAK, or Google
Earth user, then you will want to read this:

Anyone up for doing a presentation to a group of Williamson County
Health District group about geocaching? It will take place at
Southwest Regional Park on April 7. Up to 94 people may be in
attendance.

I may be able to do this, but wouldn't mind having a backup, or will
defer to anyone who would like to take the helm. It might also be a
good idea to have more than one person there, but I don't think we
want a large group.

They should have enough GPS units on hand and plan to hide a couple of
caches for the day for the staff to find.

If you're interested in learning more please contact me via email.

All,

Reading my blogs this morning (bloglines.com is awesome) saw this little GPS-related nugget:

Garmin intros c510/530, C550 and screenless Mobile 20 with Bluetooth:

I've ordered mine already but really want Melanie to hit her quota so
she at least breaks even!

So come on people! They'd make great gifts for friends!

You could put a tracking number on them and make them into
tradeable-wearable travel bugs!

Or cache swag!

Hey Gang,

Many of you knew that I lost my job right before Christmas.  Well, I just landed a new job I'm really excited about and I wanted to share my good news with you!

Thanks to everyone who was so supportive of me while I was unemployed:

Moosiegirl and The Outlaw for lending me a loaner computer to use and for putting up with me.
Gadget Girl for driving me to a job interview when my son didn't return with my car in time for me to drive myself.
Gadget Girl for giving me the opportunity to travel to some really great places when she went on business trips and a friend to cache with during the day from time to time.
The Journeying Jurnigens for the job leads, the picked up lunch tab, the encouragement, etc. etc.
Many of you for job search help.
HiDude_98 for slipping me extra gas money when we cached together.  Yes, I figured out your little trick.
TreyB for keeping me busy caching instead of moping.
Sawdust for the moral support.  We'll just leave it at that.
peter pepper & CAROL for keeping me busy.
Stratman who kept giving me chances to be FTF, but I was too busy looking for jobs to play along.
And many, many more of you who kept in touch with me and comiserated and cheered with me along the way.

I'm very busy with the Texas Challenge right now, but maybe when that all dies down I'll throw an appreciation event and tell you all in person how much it meant to me.

Big Hugs all around!

Actually, I won't start until the 27th, so I'll get to focus on the Challenge, and then maybe you'll see me caching in Tahiti, or Australia, or someplace equally warm and amazing.  I'm going to celebrate!

Tomorrow, March 10 is the fourth anniversary of the first cache that Candy,
Trey and I ever did. We picked 3 caches that were close to us at the time,
and took off. In spite of the fact that I was still learning to use my GPS
and none of us knew for sure how this worked, we found our first 3 caches
that day, all long since archived:

GC21E - Saint Edwards Park
GC273F - SpyderCo's Saint Edwards Park
GC1004 - A Walk in the Park

There were only 163 caches within 100 miles of our house at the time, so as
you might imagine it took us a while to get our first hundred finds. But it
has gotten easier. In the course of those four years, we have had the
pleasure to visit places we would never have visited, see things we would
never have seen, and make friends we would never have met. All of these
things have made this a wonderful, exciting 4 years. Thank you to all of you
who have placed those caches, shown us these amazing places, and have become
our friends. It wouldn't be the same without you.

Happy Cachiversary Candy and Trey!!!

OK folks, the CITO shirts are REALLY CUTE this year and I want us to order together to save on shipping costs, so lets get this thing going right now. If it's OK with y'all, I will place the order on April 1. You'll have to do two things:

  1. Sign up on the database in the "files" section for CenTex, indicating how many of which sizes you want to order.
  2. PayPal the money to me at my email dot com address:
$ 8 for youth sizes XS to XL
                 $ 8 for adult sizes S-XL
                 $11 for 2XL-4XL
This includes $1 per shirt for shipping and I will refund any excess when I hand out the shirts.

Sound good? Any better suggestions? Let me know!

Happy Trails!

Wow! Congratulations!!

That's just a month before I started this hobby, April 15, 2002. (tax day)

Needless to say I've been more negligent in keeping my numbers up... so I'm sort
of an old newbie.

This is a unique and wonderful hobby, that's for sure!  If I hadn't met you guys at "The British Are Coming" event back when I was at 100 finds, I'd probably only have 200 by now!  You adopted me and showed me that caching could be even more fun when its done with friends.

Thanks and congratulations!

Julie

I made a trip to The Fallen One this morning to do a cache check. There was a log from

Queen Zelda that said the logbook was full. It in fact was not full. I do have a spare ready

to go when it needs it. Cache is ready to be found.

On another subject....

When I got to my cache site I found someones neoprene knee brace right next to the cache.

Is it yours? I will hang on to it.  If nobody claims it I will keep it as I have bum knees also.

Hello Scott,
I have not received any emails from your address because I took you
off my list. Remember a while back I sent you some junk(and I totally
apologize about that)
I now know better(and should have known then) that some people just hate being forwarded that kind
of email. May I put you back on my list(sans junk email)?
How can I get your brace back to you? Do you live close to The Fallen One? I can put it back for you
to go and get it. Or I live in Oak Hill if you want to meet somewhere.
