Our acronym says it all. COOL is a secular, inclusive community of unschoolers and relaxed homeschoolers located in Bend, Oregon. If you are interested in joining COOL please read the following first:

We have weekly social gatherings throughout the year. Our gatherings are mainly social, but members are allowed to organize homeschool enrichment to offer to the group.

We are a cooperative support group, meaning that all members MUST CONTRIBUTE to the group in order for it to thrive.

This list is specifically to organize gatherings and not a discussion list. Questions about unschooling will only be addressed in person at our weekly gatherings. DO NOT use the list for advertisement.

New members are required to come to a gathering within the FIRST MONTH of joining the list.

We ask that families moving to Bend from other areas wait until they have moved to join the list. You must be living locally and actively homeschooling to join the list.

This list is organized and maintained by unschoolers and relaxed homeschoolers. Comments here will reflect that.

FLAMING will not be tolerated and members who do so will be permanently deleted from the group without discussion. We require respectful language and behavior at all times, both online and in person, from all members of our group.

Our group is non-discriminatory on the basis of race, religion, ethnic background, political or sexual orientation. We have formed for the sole purpose of establishing a community of local unschooling families.
