This group is for those who Geocache in Central Iowa and surrounding areas. The purpose of this group is to:

1. Allow easy communication between local geocachers.
2. Promote geocaching in a positive manner.
3. Coordinate activities.

What is Geocaching?

Geocaching is a fun, new sport for GPS users. Participating in a cache hunt is a good way to take advantage of the wonderful features and capability of a GPS receiver. A geocache is a container that is hidden with the coordinates and a description of the geocache posted on the Internet. GPS users can use those coordinates to find the Geocache. Once found, a cache may provide the visitor with a wide variety of rewards. When you find the geocache, you sign the log book inside the cache and log that you found the cache on the website when you get home. If you'd like, you may take a "prize", but if you take something, please leave an item in exchange.
