Description

Known for the architecturally stunning St. Mary's Cathedral and many other historical churches, as well as for its proximity to Japan Town, the Van Ness theaters, and the vibrant Fillmore and Polk Street shopping areas, San Francisco's Cathedral Hill is also home to thousands of homeowners, residents of retirement and assisted-living facilities, and tenants. In fact, our dynamic 36-square-block neighborhood is one of the most densely populated areas in San Francisco.

Like all San Francisco neighborhoods, Cathedral Hill faces various challenges, including keeping its streets safe and grafitti-free, beautifying nearby parks and green spaces, and making sure new developments fall within existing zoning requirements.

The Cathedral Hill Neighbors Association (CHNA) was formed in 2005 to help give a voice to Cathedral Hill residents with respect to these issues. Membership in CHNA is open to residents of Cathedral Hill, as well as business operators in the neighborhood.

The CHNA Board of Directors meets on the first and third Thursday of every month, at 8:00 a.m., at the Daniel Burnham Court conference room (at 1 Daniel Burnham Court), and their meetings are open to CHNA members.

CHNA has hosted a number of interesting and informational community forums on topics of interest to the neighbors. We will continue to post information regarding these forums on this website.

This Yahoo Group is provided by CHNA for open discussion of issues relating to the Cathedral Hill Neighborhood. It is not moderated (except for obsenity or abusive posts), and the opinions expressed here are not necessarily those of CHNA.
