To remind you, FOKUS will not be meeting this Fourth of July Sunday but NEXT Sunday the 12th at the lovely home of Elizabeth and Roger Pankey in Shoreline, with the veggie garden and lush fruit trees. And there will be a barbecue grill for your use and ice cream as dessert, but please do bring a potluck dish as well as a creative endeavor to share--or else just come ready to enjoy the creative endeavors of others, (this IS summer after all, and we deserve a little time off to just enjoy the nice weather and be with friends)
--AND bring some thing of your own to grill, if you want to, since we don't know what you like (meats will not be provided but all the grill paraphernalia, hot coals, utensils, hot pads, etc. WILL be, ready for you to hop in and show off your grill skills) and also be prepared to cook it yourself, but there is lots of great seating out on the deck within range of the grill, so this will not be a chore at all! Basic beverages will be provided: ice tea, lemonade, decaf later on, so if you have a favorite bevvie, bring it along, too! Thank you Roger and Elizabeth! Summer just would not be summer without our annual Pankey Palace cookout!
As usual, here is the FOKUS link for your info:
And the basics:
Time: 4 to 9-ish
Sunday July 12
Address:
1859 NW 202nd st, Shoreline
Phone: 206- 542-1937
Directions: from I-5, get off at the 175th st exit and go West to Aurora (99) then turn left to go north
From Northbound 99, make a left (turn West) at 185th (can't miss it--there is a huge Fred Meyer, also a good place to pick up any last minute things to bring)
Then go west about 2 miles on 185th which will start to wind downhill and turn into Richmond Beach Road
There will be a few signals and stop signs, but you want to turn RIGHT at 20th NW, which is a four-way stop with a flashing red light.
Then go North on 20th for just a few blocks until you get to 202nd (don't you love cities with numbered streets?), and turn RIGHT again and it is the blue house on your right at the corner with lots of trees around it.
If this sounds confusing, never fear: Elizabeth drew a very helpful MAP, as well! It will be attached to this message/
Hope to see you here. Inquire about getting a ride. I will have to be arriving a bit late, unfortunately.
