If you work in collage or assemblage, paper or polymer clays, beads, stamps, cloth or fibers, paper, metal, and other materials or if you use found objects, natural materials such as shells, pods or gourds; or if you create art dolls, altered books, jewelry, quilts, and other alternative arts, this is the group for you.
Or maybe you like to jump from one medium to another until finally they can no longer be separated. Or are you the artist who cannot get recognition because your art does not fit any standard, recognized category? Well you have come to the right place!
While primarily a group of North and South Carolina artists, we welcome creative individuals from around the country and the globe to our online discussion including, but not limited to: artistic endeavors, calls for shows and events, chat about art techniques and materials, and above all: promotion of mixed media in art!

Our home page photo features the Jerry's Artarama World of Art Challenge Display Gallery from our recent immersion in Art of the Carolinas, 2009. Twenty three member artists worked their magic, utilizing a limited assortment of art materials to illustrate the theme of the World of Art. Photo credit: Lucy Shupe. Congratulations: Carolyn Coyle, Jodi Ohl, Dawn Meisch, Jeanne Rhea and Vivianne Voyles! C'est magnifique!
This group serves as the primary communication source for our physical Guild Members (in and around Raleigh, NC); and as such, there is regular chatter concerning meeting and other 'local' details. If we prove to generate too much e-mail for you, please set delivery options to Digest. For additional information on this group and the guidelines for posting, please visit the Files section: Carolina Mixed Media Art Guild.doc If you wish to join, please take a moment to tell us where you are from and what your primary artistic interests are.
