CAREGIVERS ARMY is uniting to create an ARMY that will speak as one voice to the bureaucracies that hamper our efforts to assist our loved ones. This group is also very supportive in dealing with many diversified caregiver issues.

The Mission

Aware of the fact that Alzheimer's Disease is considered by the epidemiologists as the disease of the century and that it is a growing problem with now over four million sufferers in this country and as many as 19 million people who have a patient in the family needing care, we feel the need to do something about it.

We will:

1. Work to increase public awareness of the problem Alzheimer's poses to the country, and to enlist their help in removing the problem.

2. Educate every one about the disease so that all can be of real help to patient and caregiver.

3. Petition the government for more money for research to find a cure. We will collect signatures to take to Washington, each year prior to the budget building, until a cure is found.

4. Propose and support legislation to be helpful to patients and caregivers such as Medicare coverage of Alzheimer's in it's later stages and some support for caring for patients at home.
