"Think globally" (World Peace!) "Act locally." (Behind the wheel, drive peacefully.)

Helping others makes driving fun, and when such kindness finds its way into other areas of our lives (even more fun), we may find ourselves on the road to peace. Even if we don't create world peace in our lifetime, we can enjoy more peaceful lives.

What would make traffic safer? Can we get rid of "Merge Right" signs? (into blind spot?) Double fines for speeding in areas of merging traffic? Single lane rumblestrips just before the (entering traffic) merge area to encourage drivers to make room? Develop cars that read the driver's mind, then automatically signal to other drivers?

"Mellow Yellow" = double the yellow so that it overlaps the green, then, knowing that half the yellow has expired when the green is done, we can coast to the red light and save gas (plus, give the oncoming left-turners a bigger gap, thus, improving traffic flow). Would this make sense, or will folks be too confused?

This is not the place to "flame" other drivers. Chances are, their misdeeds are unintentional. (Don't you ever get distracted?) Let's forgive, but remember to think of ways to improve... ourselves (set a good example!)... vehicles (variable brake lights?)... our roads (design better signs!)...

Let's have fun & make this a wide-open think tank! Please, don't put down any ideas for being silly, (Silly ideas can be helpful; laughter helps remove our blinders and spark more creativity.) Let's think "outside the box," and politely communicate our thinking, with respect, caring and humor.
