"a class act lady" - EA Woltering

Brevity requires: this is NOT a support group but an information list..... Many support elists exist. Google for Carcinoid Support Groups

Before joining this list, go to www.carcinoid.org's FAQs and read them carefully. (http://www.carcinoid.org/ )
You will find they will answer 90%+ of your questions.

CARCINOID-y(yahoo) is a low-volume, moderated, educational discussion list for patients and/or their immediate family, medical researchers, and physicians, to discuss clinical, nonclinical issues and advances pertaining to Carcinoid Cancer. These include patient experiences, hormone induced psychological issues, new research, clinical trials, and discussions of current treatment practices. The listowner, conscious of the limited time medical professionals can spend online, has created this list to help those subscribers gain information from the body of listmembers on common complaints, side effects of the carcinoid syndrome, sandostatin, serotonin, and other treatments and diagnostic tests.
Please be aware that there exists a sister list for Islet Cell and other pancreatic NET's. Search for NET_IsletCell on Yahoogroups or send an email to "NET_IsletCell-subscribe@yahoogroups.com" to join. This list is for productive and non productive Carcinoid tumors primarily but other GI NETs are allowed.
The list owner is Charles Hamilton (chasm@texas.net), a 32 yr survivor of this disease. There are perhaps 6 others on this list who have survived this disease an equal or greater length of time (post pathology based Dx)
For the most encyclopedic site on carcinoid on the internet, it is strongly suggested that you go to www.carcinoid.org and spend a day or so there. You will find a superb glossary and a set of FAQs. Photo: SUSAN ANDERSON.
