JOHN CALVIN (1509-1564)...
Few names provoke such polarized reactions. Some consider the man to have been a false teacher, even a murderer. Others consider the Genevan Reformer to have been "apostolic." Of course, many fall somewhere in between.
This group is dedicated to the writings of John Calvin. This is not a place for debate or discussion. Rather, Calvin shall be allowed to speak for himself.
Lord willing, a message from Calvin will be posted, sometimes daily, usually less frequently, depending on the supply of quotes provided by our group members.
Feel free to post a quote or a section from Calvin's writings. Don't worry about the quote being too short. Short and sweet is good! If the quote or section is particularly long, then feel free to break it into a series of posts. But please do post. The success of this group depends on it!
May the reader profit from the reading thereof.
"The beginning of true wisdom is when a man lays aside his pride, and submits himself to the authority of Christ."
