Yeah! That dance class with Seonaid was frickin' hysterical!!!
But you know, I only wanna dance with other girls.
Am I sick?
Did I just come out of the dance closet?
Conna, I don't wanna scare you, but I think I...
uh, never mind.

Thanks Seonaid and Tsire and Elaine and all you other lovely dancers for
making my Lilies such a riot! Also, tell Calon that I loved seeing her
face
everyday.(However she spells her name!)

By the way, next year, how about a few nights of drive by, drunk and
stumble, roving dance fiascos? I'm up for it. a light-weight traveling
music
stand, a book light, some musicians, dancers and a pint or two.(or
twelve)
What say?
Love, Constantia

Let my voice ring as one with yours!

What a great time I had playing, watching the dancing, and rejoicing
that no
one broke anything on the muddy field.

And a big thank you to Seonaid, who has the patience of a saint, for
teaching me and Constantia the fun Italian dances.

Thanks to everyone!

The musicians of Grimfells are feeling froggy. So, if we were to learn
4-5 dance numbers would any of you be willing to risk a trip to BOH to
dance on and off all day? Not talking ball, just dancing off and on as
the day progresses, and as the players are available. (We will want to
play some none dance things just for the fun of playing.) Some of our
musicians will also be fighting and shooting at different times.
(Conrad, you were born to be a Quick) But if we chose 4-5 dance pieces
we could do them multiple times to get enough good dancing and playing in
during the day. Any none Grimfellions musicians would be welcome in the pit
of course. Right now the Grim-Players have been having a lot of fun with
the Karabushka. (plus a few jigs and a sweet piece called Rose in the
Heather.) We could learn some other pieces at suggestion.

BOH is a very loose and fun event as it is now. It has successfully
incorporated Iron Chef, Horses, a renfair and a really nice music pit last
year. I think it would be nice to add some dancing and formal music.

The one we used this past Lilies works fine. It's nearly identical to the
one from last year's Crystal Ball.

I will add the Crystal Ball version to our website. Our good players can
play it and the GrimDroners and drone to anything!

Keep the favorites comming - I love to hear what eveyone digs!

I dig so many dances and have such a short attention span that my top five
are contantly changing. But really I'll dance just about anything just about
anywhere. (Fox trot, or polka anyone?) For a good list of dances of all
types and popularities wrestle the Pensic Pile off of someone or go to
Pensic and pick up your own!

Just for fun heres a list of what I really dig at this moment:
16th C. Italian Maravigllia and Gracca Amorosa,
15th C. Italian Contrapasso in Due and Gratioza,
ECD: Picking of Sticks and Black Nag
SCA Corrographies: Heralds in Love
Bransles: Bransle Charlotte
Gresley: Ly Bens Dystonis and Perns in Gre
Old Measures: Black Alman, Lorraine Alman
Progression: My Lady Cullen
Guilty Out of Period Pleaures: John Tallows Cannon, Female Sailor,
Korrobushka

No. Crystal Ball is currently scheduled for November 6, the same day as
Calontir Crown.

When this has occurred in the past, I know that Shattered Crystal generously
moved the date for Crystal Ball. I haven't heard anything about that yet,
though.

Had to share.

When I bought my Gadulka from a woman in Bulgaria I asked her if it had a
case. It didn't but she had a friend who would make me one for
$15. Heck, $15 is cheap enough so I asked her to have him do it. The
case fit the instrument beautify. I got a Hammered Dulcimer at a fabulous
price this last spring. But once more needed a case for a windfall
toy. After pricing cases for non-standard sized dulcimers on line, the
best price I found was $180+S/H. Eek!

So I wrote back to the woman in Bulgaria and asked her if her friend would
consider making a case for an instrument he had never seen. She wrote back
and said he would think about it if he had exact measurements. I got him
a series of photos and the exact measurements in English and
Metric, including weight. He said he could make one for $40-45 for that
big of an instrument, plus $15 for S/H, Sevdalina added.

I sent the Sevdalina, who was acting as a broker for the case maker, $60
with out delay. (I just went ahead and paid the upper price he asked as it
was so inexpensive.) Cost me $20 to send the $$ Western Union but she had
it within hours of me closing the deal. So the $180+S/H case cost me $80
total! And it is very rugged and fits beautifully! He made it in 4 days
and the shipping took 8, It came registered mail in some of the best
packing I have ever seen. (Lots of Bulgarian movie posters. She must work
for a movie theatre.)

If any of you need a vinyl case for an instrument, he does good work and I
would be willing to give you Sevdalina's email. Only real hurdle is that
she wants the payment by Western Union. WU takes care of exchange rates
and she can pick it up at corner, so I can understand. You can even tell
her I sent you. :)

Pav
very happy with his custom case

You're in Crystal Mynes, right? (Gotta love Google)

BoH is Blood of Heroes, an annual event in Grimfells
(Fayetteville, AR)

Are you looking for recorded music or sheet music?
There are some really good online sources of both, how
are you set up for internet? Can you use a CD-Rom
from a Windows PC?

I'll be at Kingdom A&S, so I could bring stuff. OK,
I'm weak on the recorded music...

BOH -- that makes sense, think I was trying to make it harder than it is. As
far as the music -- I prefer recorded, I have no music ability. Also, a few
names of books that would basic dances to start. Thanks! And yes, Crystal
Mynes and will be at Kingdom A/S.
