I'm also running a farewell Caroso style ball on the last Saturday
afternoon. I'd love live music if anyone wants to step up for that.

Please excuse the multiple postings, but I wanted everyone to get this,
now. Here is a ball list, and links for most of the music for the Shattered
Crystal Ball on Monday night at Lilies. I will have "hard" copies
available, but if you want to get started now, you may, except for a couple
of copyrighted pieces. Enjoy, and happy playing! I hope you will join me
for one of the most rewarding pastimes: Playing beautiful medieval music
for dancers!

Hey Calontir dancers

Last 5 days to pre-register for Known world dance - Jun 21-24 in Columbus OH.
Probably the closest it will be for another 2 or 3 times (could be 6 years).
http://www.kwdms9.com/index.php?action=default

I have registered and am looking for riders or a ride. I also have spots in a
hotel room available for $20 per night (or maybe less).
If you ever head home from lilies and wish there had been more dancing, here's
your chance.

What motels are people staying in? My mother is my ride, as she has a
desire to do genealogy research in Ohio. But that means I'll be somewhat
dependent on getting rides to and from the event!

Or get a rental car, but seems something to be avoided if possible :)

Right, but I could not download any of the files. Do you have the links
for tunes we are to play from Lucia? It could be that I can open them at

Thanks, Allessandra. There have been a few changes, looks like. Yes, I do
need the links. I have some of these pulled-out from the previous list, but
had several versions of the most common ones. Some of these are new to me.
Is Lucia helping you get the versions she wants? I hope so...Thanks for
this

Brighid, let me know if you hit any snags with trying to find tunes, and
I'll try to help out as I'm able.

Looking forward to Lilies!

Why thank you, Your Majesty. Since I am not conducting this ball, I am not
so worried about it. And, in the Shattered Crystal Ball, there are only
two tunes I wasn't familiar with. By now, we are all getting a little more
comfortable with more arrangements, (like the ones that are "free for use
in the SCA!) And, I may even now have time and the right mental state to
actually practice!
I will let you know when I get links next week from Alessandra.
Thanks,
Brighid

Greetings Early Period Enthusiasts!

The Shire of Standing Stones is hosting a Pre-Norman Invasion Symposium on June
30th and we are still looking for individuals to teach.  We have added a form to
our event website
(http://sites.google.com/site/symposiumwarpractice/class-schedule/offer-to-teach\
-a-class) to streamline the gathering if all information. Please consider
teaching.  We would like to have the most diverse class options that we can.

With thanks,

Iosobal Kilgour
Minister of Arts and Sciences
Shire of Standing Stones
